Ready to join the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)? If you are within a 45 mile radius of Sacramento, we are your chapter! When you join NAWBO-Sacramento Valley, you will be connected to other strong business women with regular opportunities to meet, exchange ideas, and network with your peers. The opportunities to grow and learn are endless. NAWBO-Sacramento is part of the statewide organization, NAWBO-California, and the national organization, NAWBO, located in Washington D.C.
In addition to local events, Sacramento members can attend numerous State and National meetings and conventions to take advantage of the wide network of NAWBO. Meet the more than 7,000 members nationally and develop a network of peers who have “been there.” Read more benefits.
How to Join NAWBO
To join, you can either sign up online or download the Membership Application to mail or fax to NAWBO National for processing; we will add you to our Chapter as soon as you are processed by National.
You will be contacted by the Membership Committee when your application is approved for adding to our Chapter roster.
After your membership is processed at National, you will receive a membership login ID and password to enable you to access the member-only areas of the national website at www.nawbo.org. After your processed membership is received by the chapter, you will receive a login ID and password to enable you to access the member-only areas of the chapter website at www.nawbo-sac.com.

Membership Details
- Active members automatically join both their local chapter and the national organization. Because each chapter is part of the national organization, National dues are required in addition to local dues
- NAWBO membership is recorded in the name of the individual, not the organization
- Membership dues are nonrefundable and are subject to change
- Membership is for one calendar year and comes due for renewal on the last day of the month prior to the month in which you first joined
- For the purpose of membership, business owners are defined as owners or co-owners of companies and partners engaged in manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing or providing services
To assist in understanding which membership type and fee applies to you, please review the information below. Most individuals will fall into the Emerging or Established Business Owner types. We welcome guests to participate in up to (2) monthly events to evaluate NAWBO’s benefits.
Membership Types
Established Business Owner (Voting Member)
$300 New. $275 Annual renewal, includes National & Chapter dues. Shall be a business owner who has been in business for more than two (2) years and who owns an equity interest and actively participates in a business as a sole proprietor, an active partner of a partnership or active member of a limited liability company, an independent contractor, or a 5% or greater shareholder in a corporation.
Benefits include all NAWBO publications and training information, inclusion in the membership directory, reduced registration rate at national conferences, networking opportunities, and access to all discounts and member programs.
Emerging Business Owner (Non-Voting Member)
$225 New. $200 Annual renewal, includes National &Chapter dues. Shall be a first time business owner with a new business less than two (2) years old, or who has not yet started her business and has opted to pay a discounted dues rate.
Sustaining Member (Voting Member)
$400 New/$375 Annual renewal, includes National dues. Shall be a business owner and is a chapter member who wishes to support the organization in a larger monetary way than the Established Business Owner category.
Supporting Member (Non-Voting Member)
$399 New, $374 Annual renewal, includes National dues. Shall be an individual who subscribes to the objectives of NAWBO and wishes to lend support to NAWBO through membership. Members in this classification shall not constitute more than 10% of the voting membership.
We also welcome associate members. These are representatives of not-for-profit organizations and trade associations; persons in leadership positions in business, government or education; and individuals contemplating business ownership or partnership (limited to one year).
