Karen Arnold is presenting the break-out session, “Texting to Twitter – Understanding and Effectively Relating to Generations X and Y”, at the 2010 Entrepreneur’s Edge.

Texting to Twitter – Understanding and Effectively Relating to Generations X and Y: Successful businesses today are focusing on how to both employ and serve the younger generations. This engaging and informative presentation will provide you with insights regarding Generation X and Y’s communication styles and their expectations of employers and the vendors with whom they do business.

Karen Arnold presents and consults on generational issues to public, private, and nonprofit organizations.   Karen has over twenty years senior leadership experience in all aspects of Human Resource. She has developed and led an organizational development and training department, and has extensive experience in workforce/succession planning, change management, team building, and strategic planning. She was employed as a Human Resource Director for 15 years at Blue Shield of California.

Karen holds a Masters of Arts in Management and a Bachelors of Arts in Human Resources. Karen is an adjunct professor at California State University, Sacramento in the College of Continuing Education and at the University of San Francisco.

Karen is a partner in FutureDecisions, a company that provides cutting edge workforce/succession planning programs, training, and transition services.

Karen is a board member of JOBONE, a non-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen the economic health of El Dorado County. She is a board member of the Golden Sierra Workforce Investment Board and a member of the Sacramento/Metro Chamber Education and Workforce Committee. She is a member of the leadership team for the Sacramento Area Organizational Development Network and is 2009- 2010 president for the Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Business Women Owners.
