A Special Night for NAWBO. 

It’s Business Night at Macy’s! Join us in the Lingerie Department at Westfield Downtown Plaza Macy’s on Wednesday, November 12th from 5:30-9pm. Enjoy a shopping mixer with hors d’oeuvres and wine bar, a special fashion presentation hosted by Good Day Sacramento anchor Julissa Ortiz, and cosmetic consultations. The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is co-hosting this event and a $10 donation is suggested with 100% of proceeds to benefit the SHCC Scholarship Program! This is also a chance to participate in exclusive pre-shopping for Community Shopping Day, with 10 to 20 percent off regular, sale and clearance priced merchandise. Come prepared to be pampered… Don’t miss out on this fabulous event!

NAWBO Sacramento Valley will host it’s signature event Thursday October 16, 6-9p.m. The evening will be comprised of a no host cocktail hour accompanied by a silent auction, dinner and our Outstanding Women Leader Awards ceremony. For more information  please visit our OWL AWARDS PAGE. 

Pre-Registration is now closed but you can still pay at the door with cash or check.  Check-in at the Sacramento Hyatt Regency at 6pm.  $80/person or $75 for NAWBO members.

On October 16, 2008 the Sacramento Valley Chapter of NAWBO celebrated its 11^th annual Outstanding Women Leaders(OWL) Awards Banquet at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento.  Kitty O’Neal  local radio personality presided as Mistress of Ceremonies as she has done since the inception of the awards. This is our signature event of the year and we would like to thank all those that supported this event which honored women business owners and women who are leaders in the business community in the Sacramento region.

The OWL Awards were given to these women in the following categories:

• Women on the Way Award (less than 5 years in business)-Patricia Beckman, Cybertary.com
• Woman Innovator Award (Successful business owner in a non-traditional business)-Katina Rapton, Mel Rapton Honda
• Luminary Award (An individual/organization lighting the way for others)-Margaret Clausen, CA Hospice Foundation
• Executive Woman Award (Senior level corporate woman)-Cathilea Robinet, e.republic
• Visionary Award (An organization whose vision provides opportunities for women)-Lisa Culp, Women’s Empowerment
• Wise Woman Award (Business Woman of the Year)-Michelle Wenell, Advance Kids
• Achievement Against All Odds (Success despite unfavorable circumstances)-Kimanh Davis, Sunrise Technologies
